Fisherman's Dream is a photographic journey that portrays the vibrancy of Dunbar Harbour, the timeless but ever-changing heart of this historic East Lothian town.
The photographs focus on the often overlooked aspects of the harbour, offering glimpses of the transient beauty that is continuously altered with the seasons and weather. By using visual palettes of colour, pattern, shape and texture the enduring charms of this working harbour are revealed.
Small details from the hustle and bustle of the harbour are captured, abstracting a feeling of calm from the chaos on the quayside. Frozen in time, the images reveal the simple beauty of everyday objects.
The creation of each photograph begins with the photographer responding emotionally to what is presented before him, visualising how it will look on printed paper and capturing the precise moment so that it can be shared.
But the process doesn’t end there. Each photograph will be interpreted differently by each observer and a new memory will be formed within the mind of the viewer, thus creating a new reality from a photographer’s dream.
Just because you have an opinion does not means that it is a good idea to share it.
