The photographs were taken between September 2017 and April 2019 on Canon digital cameras. Post-processing was completed using Adobe Photoshop. The prints are C-Type on Chromira matt photographic paper.
Ray Scoble is an Edinburgh born photographer who started taking photographs over fifty years ago with a Kodak Brownie 44A camera.
A long career as an aerial photographer and land surveyor took him throughout Britain and overseas. Previous photographic projects reflect those journeys including the Rub al Khali desert in Saudi Arabia, Berlin shortly after the Wall came down, the stark beauty of Iceland, and everyday life in the incredible landscape of Nepal.
Ray’s photographs have been exhibited in several galleries throughout Edinburgh including St. Bride’s Community Centre, Stills Gallery, the ALP Centre, Tollcross Community Centre, St. Martin’s Church, and the Royal Botanic Gardens. His work has also been published in ‘Ye Ken’ magazine, the Edinburgh Advertiser, the Gorgie Dalry Gazette, the Scotsman and the RSPB magazine.
Additionally he has created audio-visual installations and posted various animations on YouTube.
